About the Recipe
There’s something unmistakably comforting about making an apple cake in the fall, especially when you’re from Michigan. With apple orchards around every corner and crisp autumn days that call for cozy baking, this cake has long been a seasonal staple in our home. The scent of fresh apples, warm spices, and butter filling the kitchen feels like a celebration of everything fall in the Midwest—simple, nostalgic, and meant to be shared. For me, baking an apple cake isn’t just about dessert; it’s about honoring a tradition rooted in Michigan’s harvest season and the joy that comes with it.
